As a busy mom, life can often feel like a never-ending whirlwind of responsibilities, from tending to the kids, managing the household, and juggling work commitments. In the midst of all this chaos, it's easy to forget about the most important person – you. That's why I've made it a non-negotiable to carve out "me-time" every day, and I'm here to share some self-care routines and tips that can help you recharge and maintain your mental health.

The Power of Uninterrupted Showers

One of the simplest yet most effective ways I find my me-time is through long, uninterrupted showers. This daily ritual is my sanctuary, a place where I can relax and let the stress of the day wash away. I take my time, using my favorite scented body wash and indulging in a thorough skincare routine. The warm water, combined with the soothing scents, creates a spa-like experience that leaves me feeling refreshed and ready to tackle whatever comes next.

Investing in a Massage Membership

Recognizing the toll that constant running around can take on my body, I recently invested in a massage membership. This has been a game-changer for me. Once a month, I  forced to go to my local spa for an hour of blissful relaxation, because I’m paying for it! The benefits of regular massages extend beyond just physical relaxation; they also help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and boost overall well-being. This dedicated time for myself is something I eagerly look forward to and it significantly contributes to my mental health.

Prioritizing Physical Health

Taking care of myself physically is another crucial aspect of my self-care routine. I’ve found that maintaining my health and appearance makes me feel good about myself, which in turn positively impacts my mental state. I ensure I stay active, exercising at least 3-4 times a week with my Planet Fitness membership and at home gym. I realized that being unhappy with my body post my son was under my control and I must take care of myself versus complain about it.

Practicing Mindfulness and Meditation

Incorporating mindfulness and meditation into my daily routine has been transformative. I set aside at least ten minutes each morning to meditate. Meditation helps me center myself, clear my mind, and approach each day with a sense of calm and balance. Even just a few minutes of deep breathing exercises can make a significant difference in how I handle stress, my business, my home and everything in between!

As Bawse moms, we often put ourselves last, thinking it's the noble thing to do. But the truth is, taking care of ourselves is essential to being the best version of ourselves for our families.
